#36. Have 20 dates with Dean.
Dean and I do lots of things together (meals out, things at home etc.) but we aren’t the best at actually going somewhere together in a date sense where we make an effort to get a bit dressed up and go out just the two of us. I think it’s so easy to take life for granted but we really must try to make an effort to set aside time to just spend with each other, away from the house and family. This task was originally monthly but due to my health, we’ve not managed to do that so 20 dates it is! We often go to the cinema or for a meal but not really an actual date where we make a real effort.
Update 30/08/09 – We have been out several times but the only ones I can actually remember (damn health) is the first two so I will include that and then start again from now with three so I can tell you about them.
1. 22nd May 2009, our 5th wedding anniversary.
We went to Eddie Rockets, an American diner in Liverpool. It was superb and we had sooo much food in such a great setting.

2. 14th June 2009, Dean’s 30th birthday.
We went to see Angels and Demons as part of Dean’s birthday, sitting in the Gallery which is a fab way to go to the cinema. You have big seats with tables, unlimited popcorn/drinks/nachos and a bar too. It’s a fab way see a film for a special treat. We then went through the Mersey Tunnel for a night in a lovely hotel.
3. 17th October 2009, Tom Jones.
The last leg of Dean’s 30th birthday celebrations when we finally got to see Tom Jones in concert. What a fabulous night!
4. 7th November 2009 – Rotary Club Bonfire and Fireworks.
Our local garden centre gives some of it’s land every year for a charity (this year Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice) bonfire and fireworks display. Last night was very cold and very wet but we had a super time. Roll on next year.
5. 20th December 2009 – Pre-Christmas day in Liverpool
We had the most amazing day. We left early to take photos of the Penguins then did a few final bits of Christmas shopping (only two or three things), had a quick burritos for lunch, went to see The Nativity at the cinema (which was fantastic) and then to Gourmet Burger for dinner. We mooched around the Christmas markets a bit and came home feeling very festive. The crowds didn’t seem to matter at all and we had such a good time!

6. 12th April 2010 – The day after my birthday
After a few months of poor health, the fog started to lift before my birthday. We spent the day after my birthday in a very sunny Edinburgh. I spent some birthday vouchers, we had lunch, a wander and then a couple of drinks in Dirty Dicks before heading home. It was a lovely day.
7. 22nd May 2010 – Our sixth wedding anniversary
We had a lovely celebratory meal at our favourite local restaurant, The Print House in Prescot. It’s quite unusual for us to go out in the evening as I get so tired but we had a lovely meal and really enjoyed each other’s company.

8. 26th May – Peter Kay
We went to Wagamamas for dinner and then to see Peter Kay at the MEN, he was amazing! We laughed until were hurting then laughed more. We (particularly Dean) would have preferred not to be so high up as they were true ‘nose bleed’ seats but it certainly didn’t spoil our night.
9. 28th May 2010 – A trip to Ormskirk
Dean took a day off work ahead of the bank holiday weekend. We went to visit the National Trust property Rufford Hall, which was closed (boo!) but we did have a mooch around the grounds. We then found a farm shop and restaurant so went there for lunch, was very lovely indeed.
10. 14th June 2010 – Dean’s birthday
Dean took the day of work and we went to Yo Sushi and had a massive feast on their ‘Blue Plate Monday’ deal. We went to the cinema and saw Death at a Funeral, rounding up the day with a milkshake from Shake About.
11. 11th July 2010 – A day in town
We went into Liverpool One today, having Wagamamas for lunch, John Lewis cafe cakes for pudding and I got a new laptop. A very shiny new laptop which will make coming on here to update much easier!
