1. Thai – 8th February 2009 (blog post)
For the mother-in-law’s birthday in February, we went the fabulously named Thai reastaurant Wannee Wah Wah in Wigan. The menu was so vast but I settled on sweetcorn cakes with chilli sauce followed by Pad Kee Mao with tiger prawns, which was noodles with tiger prawns, thai basil, chilli (lots of it!) and vegetables. It was absolutely lovely and came complete with turnip carved into a rose. I had my eye on pudding with bananas but in the end we went elsewhere for pudd, only to find the kitchen to be closed! Nooooo! I had been scarred from a previous visit to a Thai restaurant but now I would happily go back there or any other Thai place.

Dean’s dish, which was a seafood and chilli oil dish called Pud Talay Ruam Gra Prow.

I didn’t take the camera as I thought we were only going for pizza but after the lovely Jane recommended we go to Church Street as it’s closed off in the summer so diners can sit in the street, we found Pincho Tapas Bar.
We had 6 dishes between us, which were:
