#39 – Do something exciting for Dean’s 30th birthday.

Dean turned 30 on 14th June and he didn’t want a fuss which made “something exciting” quite difficult!

Dean's 30th Birthday

The day before, we had a BBQ at home on his new birthday gift (half from me, half from his parents) Weber BBQ. It was very low key, just leisurely enjoying the good weather and good food in the garden. Cooking on a decent BBQ made him feel like a proper grown up! I made him a digger cake which he absolutely loved.

On the day of his birthday, he had his other gifts which included a signed Dean Koontz book and Top of the Pops 1979 CD from me, Tom Jones tickets from his mum and dad, a leather tool belt from his brother and an iPod dock/alarm clock from my mum. I then took Dean to see Angels and Demons at The Gallery which is part of the new Odeon cinema in Liverpool. It’s the cinema world equivalent of upper class and is fantastic! Sitting with the riff raff ;-) will never feel the same again!

After the cinema, I took Dean to Thornton Hall in the Wirral for the night. I annoyingly got my 4th bout of chicken pox the day before so we got no use of the spa. We had been drooling at the beautiful dinner menu but when we got to the restaurant, we realised they only did the a la carte menu Monday to Saturday. Our roast dinner was lovely and we just made the most of it. Breakfast was beautiful and we also enjoyed the balcony which came with our room!

On the Monday, we made our way home via a local farm shop and Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet.

I hope this counted as something exciting, Dean certainly enjoyed himself!
