26. Buy a Christmas decoration in the summer
62. Eat a cream cake from Fisher & Donaldson
63. Eat fish and chips at the harbour in Anstruther

On 29th July, Dean and I took a trip to St Andrews and had such a lovely day.

Whilst there, we went to The Christmas Shop to buy a Christmas decoration.

(#26)

We had lunch from the amazing Fisher and Donaldson bakery, where Dean had a Forfar Bridie and a custard filled doughnut, I had a vanilla slice and a strawberry tart, all gorgeous as always! We also got two rhubarb pies for my mum.

We then went to the Anstruther Fish Bar, which has won so many awards. They have to be the best fish and chip shop in the world. We got there early so avoided the usual one hour queue. It never fails to let us down.

Best fish and chips in the world... Ever!

A very productive day really.

23. Send & receive 5 postcards via Postcrossing. (Blog page)

Hoorah! I have completed this task in 19 days, so happy! I have found my second hobby through 101 Things. The first was knitting and now Postcrossing. Altogether I have sent 9 and received 5 cards, I’m absolutely loving it.

The internet never stops amazing me. Postcrossing joins people from every race, religion and culture through a simple postcard. I’ve sent one to a township in India, to China, various places in Europe and the USA. To places I’ve been to and places I will never visit but I have sent something something personal there and received something from the lives of each person sending to me. Some people laugh at Postcrossing and can’t see the point of it but they it’s them whose lives are poorer for not taking part. Postcrossing in fantastic.

Postcards I have received:

1. NL-228040 from The Netherlands

3. Send & receive 5 postcards via Postcrossing. (Blog page)

I have received my first postcard today, so excited!

It’s from a lovely lady in The Netherlands and it reads:

“Hi Anne
I’m 52 years old and my daughter’s name is Anna. Me and my husband are both teachers. I also have lots of hobbies and will look into this 101 Things site of yours! (One of the things to do…)
Happy postcrossing! Lilian.

The photo on the card was taken by Lilian herself.

#19. To own a leather handbag.

My lovely friend Cheryl knew I had this task on my list and kindly offered to send me a beautiful leather handbag she didn’t want any more. I’m delighted with it and very pleased to finally own one! It’s a nice big bag so will take all my stuff plus it’s also perfect for the impending black boot season as my usual floral Cath Kidtson bag won’t go with my boots.

Thanks so much Cheryl.
